The Chilterns AONB

Red Kites soars like the cathedral spire. Chiltern Hills stretching to horizon’s edge. Ancient men from ancient times, did they feel the Ley lines beneath my feet? I feel connection in my bones, my head my heart.

This surely is God’s own country.

The connection I feel with you, was never lost down the years. Reluctant traveller through life’ travails. I found you again, the last time you said goodbye. Too much too soon? I often wondered why.

Your motherhood is natural, caring understanding. Like the bull in the china shop. Boudicca, a warrior queen. You lead me from astray. You pull me from the rocks. You save me from the desert.

When my demons, threaten to overwhelm. Soul overboard is, is the klaxon’s cry. Your hand, your heart your love lifts me up to shore.

As I watch the Swifts, in the summer evening sky. I ask for your forgiveness. I submit to you. I love you.
