A not so happy family…

In June 2008, my mother of a bleed on the brain…

The bleed was caused by a fall from a bus, hitting her head…

It kept bleeding because she was on the blood thinner Warfarin…

My mother was a retired nurse. She knew this…

When she went for a heart check-up (arrhythmic heart) at Southend Hospital. No-one asked her about the bruises on her face. They knew she was on Warfarin…

Three days later she collapsed in her kitchen, hitting her head again on the way down…

An hour later she died in A&E.

My response to her death surprised me...

All this is 13 years ago and of course there is back story.

I didn’t have a great relationship with my mother and this was historic. I didn’t have a great relationship with my father and this was historic. They didn’t have a great relationship with each other. Overall, it just wasn’t great.
